Patty Melt

Ingredients

1 lb. ground beef
1/2 tsp. garlic salt
1/4 tsp. ground black pepper
8 slices low carb bread, such as Go Lo Bread – Sesame with new 1 carb per slice
4 slices Swiss cheese
1/4 cup butter, melted

Preparation

In a large bowl combine ground beef with salt and pepper. Form into four equal size patties, about 1″ to 1-1/2″ thick.

In a large skillet cook hamburger patties over moderate heat until desired level of doneness, 15 to 25  minutes. Set aside.

In another large skillet or griddle, brush one side of bread with melted butter and place it butter side down onto grill. Repeat this until you have 4 slices on the grill. Top with patty and slice of cheese, then top with other slice of bread, brushing melted butter on top of it. Grill both sides of bread until golden brown, about 5 minutes.

Yields 4 Servings

Serving Size = 1 sandwich
